Higher Education Coordinating Council To Meet November 13, 2012

TALLAHASSEE -- The Higher Education Coordinating Council will meet on November 13, 2012 in Tallahassee.

The meeting will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon on the 17th Floor of the Turlington Building, 325 W. Gaines Street, Tallahassee, FL. Closer to the actual meeting date an agenda will be posted online at: www.floridahighereducation.org. This meeting will include a discussion of the first draft of the annual report due December 31, 2012.

The seven (7) member Council was established to identify unmet needs and to facilitate solutions to disputes regarding the creation of new degree programs and the establishment of new institutes, campuses, or centers. The Council's charge is to make recommendations to the Legislature, the State Board of Education, and the Board of Governors, State University System of Florida. The purpose of this meeting is to review the work of the Council's subcommittee recommendations and to continue to gather input from different sectors of higher education.

The Board of Governors is the constitutional body created by voters in 2002 to guide the State University System of Florida.
